One of the interesting questions we’ve had about our most recent show was totally unrelated to the topic: denial. Instead, people wondered who that was playing the country music near the end of the episode. It was the Lawerence Peters Outfit, a Chicago-based country band. You can check them out on myspace here.

Hi folks. It’s Chris. After a couple of weeks of wacky illness, we’re back. Check out this weeks show on denial if you haven’t already. We’re getting ready to roll out a show on medication. We’ve realized the topic of medication is so massive that we will have to split the show up into a few weeks. So, this week, we’re going to go over medication broadly, touching on things like antipsychotics, mood stabilizers and antidepressants. We’ll also touch on the importance of taking your medications regularly and consistently if you’ve been prescribed them. The following week, we’ll do an entire episode about side effects from medication. We’ll finish up the following week by tying it all together with an episode about the biological component of mood disorders.
Sooner or later, we’ll end up doing a show on each of the types of medication. So, I’m sure we’ll do a show down the line entirely on mood stabilizers. For now, we’re looking to cover a wide area in a short amount of time.
Look for our upcoming guests as well: Dr. Jim Hudziak who co-authored one of the largest studies on the impact of genetics on mood disorders, and musician/recording artist Brandi Carlile.
We’ll be posting more here, so keep checking back. And come on, get involved in some discussion here too. It’s what this place is for after all.
See ya,
Chris
